Makris Gialos beach is a short walk from the main road in Lassi and an easy 10 minute drive from the islands capital Argostoli.

The beach itself is over 600m long and has soft golden sand and a shallow entrance to the water. It has all the facilities you could want including a massive amount of sun loungers, day beds and a full array of water sports which makes it ideal for anyone with youngsters who need to be entertained throughout the day.

For lunch, drinks and snacks there’s a selection of good tavernas that have free WiFi and play music out over the beach, you also have the option to walk back into Lassi if you prefer. Around the tavernas is where you’ll find the sun loungers but inbetween and at the ends of the beach you can get a bit of open space to claim as your own.

Makris Gialos beach often gets criticised for lacking charm and being over developed, if you want a tourist beach with all the facilities at your fingertips then this is perfect.
Tucked away under a lavish forest the contrast of this beach is truly amazing!
